about
'Body' was inspired by the feeling of being completely in love with somebody and telling them that you’re gonna be there through all the ups and downs. The song encapsulates everything I was feeling in the relationship it was written about.
The song was written when I couldn’t fall asleep while staying over at my girlfriend’s place. Inspiration came over me and I knew I had to write, so I grabbed a little keyboard and went into the bathroom so I wouldn’t wake her up. I think it’s the first song I ever wrote while sitting on a toilet.
lyrics
You came out of nowhere, please don’t ever leave
Help me see the person that I wanna be
I want your body on mine
I want your body on mine
It gets so hard to breathe
When you’re not next to me
Funny how suddenly I need you here
Baby, you’ve been making my heart sing
Please don’t stop, and it’s love if I’m ready or not
You move your body like you know I’m caught
Tie my tongue in a million knots
You make it easy, but when it’s not,
I’ma fight, give it all that I’ve got
You best believe me, we were made for love
In the stars it was written for us
You make my heart sing
Take me through the motions
Blissful like a dream
But hellish like a nightmare
And everything between
I want your body on mine
I want your body on mine
Baby, you’ve been making my heart sing
Please don’t stop, and it’s love if I’m ready or not,
You move your body like you know I’m caught
Tie my tongue in a million knots
You make it easy, but when it’s not
I’ma fight, give it all that I’ve got
You best believe me, we were made for love
In the stars it was written for us
You make my heart sing
You don’t have to hide anymore,
You don’t have to hide what is in your heart
You don’t have to cry anymore,
Running in the rain when you fall apart
You don’t have to hide anymore,
You don’t have to hide what is in your heart
You don’t have to cry anymore, don’t you cry anymore
It gets so hard to breathe
When you’re not next to me
Funny how suddenly I need you here
Baby, you’ve been making my heart sing
Please don’t stop, and it’s love if I’m ready or not
You move your body, like you know I’m caught
Tie my tongue in a million knots
You make it easy, but when it’s not
I’ma fight, give it all that I’ve got
You best believe me, we were made for love
In the stars it was written for us
You make my heart sing
